Undergraduate Fun Observatory (UFO) Star Party

Do you like star gazing? Ever dreamed of seeing them a bit more up-close and personal? Well, IPFW’s Undergraduate Fun Observatory (UFO) is ready for you!

Steve Gillam (assistant professor, physics) is hosting a “Public Star Party” on December 2 from 7-10pm. The star party will include a tour of the observatory, an opportunity to view stars and planets, and the chance to take a picture of a galaxy or nebula. Gillam also plans to have small hand-operated telescopes for participants to view the sky. If you’re interested in attending the star party, see this event page or contact Gillam at gillamsd@ipfw.edu.

Gillam also organized a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 21 (pictures above). Learn more about the observatory in this IPFW press release and Wane.com article.
