Philosophy majors Jeff Anglemyer (senior), Kevin Smith (junior), and Charles Smith (junior) had papers accepted to the Intercollegiate Undergraduate Ancient Philosophy Conference at Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Undergraduates and faculty from Ball State University, Wabash College, and Earlham College also participated in the conference. Each student presented a paper prepared in Assistant Professor of Philosophy Charlene Elsby’s PHIL 301 History of Ancient Philosophy course. Anglemyer presented, “Souls of the Hollows: An Interpretation of Plato’s Afterlife”; Kevin Smith presented “The Philosophical Theology of Plato”; and Charles Smith’s paper, “Identity and Immortality,” was presented in absentia due to illness. Matt Wyss (junior, philosophy), Aaron Thieme (senior, philosophy and women’s studies), and Terra Brix (senior, philosophy and women’s studies) also attended the event.
Congratulations to the student presenters, faculty mentor, and student attendees for creating a strong IPFW presence at this conference!
